Hello, I'm
Mehmet Koruturk
Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at
Texas A&M University,
advised by Prof. Robert Balog
in the Renewable Energy and Advanced Power Electronics Laboratory (REAPER).
Previously M.S. in Electrical Engineering at
Virginia Tech,
advised by Prof. Ming Jin.
I work on reinforcement learning, optimization, and
grid-interactive power systems.
I'm interested in how we can build energy-management and decision-making systems that are
not only efficient but also safe, interpretable,
robust, and able to continually adapt as grid conditions, uncertainty, and
disturbances evolve — so that learning-based control can be trusted in real, mission-critical
energy infrastructure.
